Scarlet Bushido is about Righteousness, Loyalty, Honor, Respect, Honesty, Courage, and Consistency. Trained in martial arts for many years, the artist Rudolph Kasper finds this painting deeply connects with many aspects of how he sees the world. Bushidō translates to “the way of the warrior.” Samurai adhered to an unwritten standard of behavior, eventually codified as bushidō, which is similar to the European chivalry code. Clad in iconic yet functional armor, swiping bright streaks of color from a swift Katana, kabuto tipped forward, ready to defend and protect, our subject is the pure essence of art in motion.
